Augmented Reality ( AR ) is a technology that allows us to experience a lifelike situation in more interesting ways . It combine the virtual reality and the user's visual to create an impact that stimulates our senses . In other words , AR is what enchanced from the virtual reality . It imposed virtual objects into reality world .This will give the users an interactive path with the technology and have a better idea about the information that are being performed as compared to Virtual Reality(VR) which provides almost real and/or believable experiences in a synthetic or virtual way. AR enhances the real world by superimposing computer generated informations on top that allows the users to see the real world. AR promotes reality rather than replacing it by combining 3D graphics with real world in a 3D space. Information that has been augmented such as annotations,speech instructions,images,videos and 3D models help the users to perform task in reality.
Applications of Augmented Reality in Daily Life
AR system have been applied in many fields such as in medical,entertainment,military training,education and others fields. For exxample, in medical field,doctors use AR system to see virtual ultrasound images overlaid on patient's body,they give their patients the equivalent of X-ray vision during a needle biopsy. While in education,students can learn in a much more interesting way where they don't depend on their textbooks solely but gain their knowledge by watching simulations n so on that consist of augmented reality. As a result,students can remember better cause they saw and heard what they were being taught.
Voice recognition
Real-time overlay display technology (built in to the wearable glasses, must cover light shading, depth of field considerations, etc.)
Sound and voice rendering, including spatial considerations
Human character rendering (covering body mechanics, adherence to physical laws, etc.)
AI (artificial intelligence) technology for understanding user speech and creating intelligent, meaningful dialog
Miniaturization advances for wearable CPUs and sensory devices
Improvements in portable power
Whereas in entertainment, movies such as Topgun,Iron Man,Iron Man 2,Terminators series,Avatar,Minority Report and others movies also show us how AR technology is practice,while in military training,Head Up Displace(HUD) was an example of AR that was shown in front of jet fighters's screen where pilots of jet fighters can see information such as vectors,altitude,speed of jet fighters and others in front of them.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Augmented Reality
AR makes our life become more simple in term of education where learning wonn't be a bore anymore,we can also do our task with less mistake since we can rehearse earlier using AR technologies, we can correct our mistake immediately and many others but AR that has the current speed of today's smart phones will take a few generations to make AR feasible as a general interface technique available to the general public,some AR content may obscure or narrow users interest or tastes,privacy control will become a bigger issue with today's information saturation level and it might cause over obsession towards people who loves gaming.
AR has slowly become a need for human beings although it has just been applied in some fields but sooner or later AR will become a common thing that is used by everybody in the world like computer,internet and others technologies.Daily activities had become more interesting with the present of AR but like lots of other things,there is pros and cons of AR.If we don't use AR wisely,it could damage our life.
